The Kodaly Choir of London
The Kodaly Choir of London rehearses choral music in different styles and from widely ranging eras, using principles developed by Hungarian composer
Zoltan Kodaly.
Come and sing with the Kodaly Choir of London, every second Sunday of the month, from 2-5pm. You will find us at our practice venue in Holborn, central London. All new members are welcome.
The Kodaly Choir of London rehearses choral music using Kodaly principles. We are a small, friendly group, who meet for enjoyment and practice. Some knowledge of solfa is recommended, and some choral singing experience is helpful. Led by Music Director Alan Murdock, you can expect to sing beautiful pieces, ranging from the early Renaissance to the 21st century – including many by Kodaly and other Hungarian composers.
The choir provides hands-on experience in music sight-reading: repertoire each month involves several pieces, some accessible for less experienced sight-readers, some more challenging – there is lots of support! We also work on some longer pieces. Occasionally we present an informal concert.
Come and join us at Emerald Hall, Holborn House Community Centre, Holborn House, 35 Emerald Street – just off Lamb’s Conduit Street, London WC1N 3QW. Our next rehearsal is on Sunday June 8th.
